Abbotsford Community Services presented Innovation, Equity and Prosperity in September 2013 as part of the Diversity Networking Series 2.0, hosted by employer Vanderpol Food Group. This session featured resource speaker Joan Anderson and workshop facilitator Danica Denommé. Following a long and varied career at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Joan is now the Director of Employment and Language Programs. Danica is the Program Coordinator of Diversity Education at Abbotsford Community Services.
Resource speaker Mo Dhaliwal, Director of Strategy at Skyrocket Digital explains why communication strategies for diverse audience can’t be overlooked. Abbotsford Community Services presented Diversity in Media, Marketing, and Communcation in October 2013, also featuring workshop facilitator Danica Denommé, Program Coordinator of Diversity Education at Abbotsford Community Services. This session was part of the Diversity Networking Series 2.0 and was hosted by Relevention Marketing Solutions.
Manpreet Grewal, Co-Chair, Fraser Valley Diversity and Immigration Partnership Council
Manpreet is the Director of Multicultural and Immigrant Integration Services at Abbotsford Community Services and has worked in the non-profit sector for 26 years. She has also worked as a freelance journalist with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the Vancouver Sun, the Province, the Abbotsford News and the Abbotsford Times. Manpreet has a Masters Degree in Political Science from the University of Delhi, a diploma in print journalism from the London School of Journalism, and several credit courses from BC Institute of Technology.
Sue Federspiel, Co-Chair, Fraser Valley Diversity and Immigration Partnership Council
Sue is a lifelong resident of the Fraser Valley, and she is interested in how human diversity makes a city and community stronger and wiser, by reaping the benefits of multiple perspectives and voices. She works for the City of Abbotsford as a Community Developer, connecting with neighbourhood residents and associations, and developing partnerships to enhance the general quality of life for residents of Abbotsford
