Immigrant advisory table

Immigrant Advisory Table (IAT) is a formal collective of immigrants and refugees in Abbotsford convened by Abbotsford Community Services to inform current and future strategic directions related to immigration outcomes of the community.

 

MEMBERSHIP AND ROLES

In 2018, Abbotsford's first Immigrant Advisory Table will start its work. There are 11 members representing a variety of groups in terms of age, gender, ability, country of origin, length of stay in Canada, immigration category, languages spoken, skills, profession and more.

Members of the Immigrant Advisory Table:

  •         Help advise current and future strategic directions related to immigration outcomes
  •         Provide insight and information to the Abbotsford Local Immigration Partnership Council
  •         Advise working groups on activities: events, community consultations, and research
  •         Make sure a variety of ethno-cultural communities are involved with the work.
